Course Overview

Start selling your products and services online with this exciting five-week course. From product description to payment gateway, this course will teach you how to do everything you need to sell your products online. You'll take the reins and dive right into making a successful online business and walk away with a completed ecommerce shop ready for customers. This course is perfect for artists and entrepreneurs who want to take advantage of the global market to sell their services and products.

Some experience with Web site maintenance is required. If you have none, take a look at our DIY: Web site building class which starts a few weeks earlier.

  • Thursday October 15: Shipping, taxes and international sales.
  • Thursday October 22: Customizing the customer experience.
  • Thursday October 29: Creating enticing products that your customers will buy.

This class will be offered again in the Winter of 2010. Please sign up for the HICK Tech eZine (over there on the right) if you'd like to be notified when registration opens.

Take-Away Skills

By the end of this five-week course you will be able to:

  • Customize Web forms to create unique product summaries that meet your business needs.
  • Upload pictures of your products.
  • Determine appropriate transaction paths for your customers and apply them to your ecommerce site.
  • Create custom messages to display after products have been purchased.
  • Integrate your Web site with PayPal to complete sales transactions and accept payments securely.

Can you believe you're going to learn all of that in five weeks? You betcha you can do it! I've worked with hundreds of businesses and entrepreneurs just like you and I know you can do it too.

Format

  • Live teleclass (that's right, a PHONE!, no fancy computer stuff required). Each session is 45 minutes + Q/A and will be recorded. If you miss a session you will be able to download and listen to the audio when it's convenient for you! Not convinced? Read more information about taking teleclasses with HICK Tech.
  • Printable instruction summaries for every technique you learn in class.
  • Your own ecommerce Web site! As part of this course you will click your way to a real ecommerce site. We do the heavy lifting, you do the customizing. At the end of the course you keep the code.
