DIY: Web site building
Date: Saturday February 4, 2012 Fee: $ 497.00
Course Overview
In this five-week course you'll learn how to build your very own Web site with absolutely NO CODING. Fire your web developer and take charge! This class is absolutely perfect for people who've never done any coding, but are comfortable surfing the Internet. If you use Hotmail or Gmail or Facebook you're already considered an ADVANCED student. No special software is needed to take this course. Just a phone, a computer and an Internet connection.
Schedule
This teleclass meets for an hour each week starting at 4PM Eastern Standard/Daylight Time.
- Creating your first Web page.
- Choosing and installing plugins.
- Photo galleries and fancy text formatting.
- Creating a blog (and finding your voice).
- Moving forward: Domain name registration and Web site hosting.
Take-Away Skills
By the end of this five-week course you will be able to:
- Create your very own Web site with absolutely no coding. (Although we'll teach you how to peek under the hood so that you can see what's there.)
- Upload pictures to the Internet to include on your Web site.
- Select a Web site template that is perfect for your business and then apply it to your Web site.
- Add a blog or discussion forum to your Web site.
- Register a domain name and find appropriate Web site hosting.
- Evaluate additional plugins to make your Web site even more amazing than it already is.
- Fire your web maintenance dude.
Can you believe you're going to learn all of that in five weeks? Even with no Web site building experience? You betcha you can do it! I've worked with hundreds of businesses and entrepreneurs just like you and I know you can do it too.
Format
- Live teleclass (that's right, a PHONE!, no fancy computer stuff required). Each session is 45 minutes + Q/A and will be recorded. If you miss a session you will be able to download and listen to the audio when it's convenient for you! Not convinced? Read more information about taking teleclasses with HICK Tech.
- Printable instruction summaries for every technique you learn in class.
- Your own Web site! As part of this course you will click your way to a real site. We do the heavy lifting, you do the customizing. At the end of the course you keep the code.
