Many of our workshops are offered as teleclasses. These classes happen "live" over the phone. You will be able to interact with the instructor and other students. Here are a few of your concerns put to rest:
- "Telephone?! Get With the Times!"
- People are typically very sceptical when they hear "teleclass." Even if you're a visual learner, this is an awesome way to participate in a remote class. You don't need a fast Internet connection. You can doodle while you listen. And depending on the class you will get handouts ahead of time OR we'll walk YOU through the activity as part of the class! No more passive watching. It's time to learn while doing!
- Phones Are Easy
- Teleclasses make our courses accessible to you. No matter where you are, you probably have access to a telephone. It doesn't matter if your Internet connection is slow, it doesn't matter if you don't have the latest software installed on your computer. To take part in a teleclass you just need to pick up the phone and dial in! And the class won't get held up because someone doesn't have the latest plugin or audio or video working or any other frustrating thing that typically occupies the first 30 minutes of a webinar.
- You Can Listen Later
- If you can't make it to a class, that's ok! Within 24 hours of the class you will be able to download an MP3 of the phone call to listen to at your convenience. Even if you were on the phone call, you can download and listen to the recording over and over again.
- How to Participate
- A few minutes before the class starts you will need to call into the "classroom." You will be given a phone number ahead of time and a passcode. You can make this phone call from a land line, a mobile (cellular) phone, or from Skype! You will hear waiting music until the class starts. At that time you will hear the instructor on the line. At various points in the call you may be muted, or able to speak freely. The instructor will let you know which buttons to push on your phone to speak with others on the line.
- What if I'm Long Distance?
- In most cases HICK Tech will provide a toll-free number for you to call within North America. If you are outside of North America you may choose to use a "toll" line (you pay long distance fees into the US); or you may wait until after the class and download the MP3 recording of the class.
- I love it! Sign me up!
- Of course you're ready. Head on back to the class descriptions and register for your workshop.
