Goodbye, Microsoft!
Are you tired of paying hundreds or thousands of dollars for your computer's software? Tired of having to buy upgrades, and new hardware to run the upgrades? Tired of crashes, security flaws, cyber-attacks, and worrying if your computer is safe to use? Had enough of license agreements, lock-downs, and restrictions on what you can do with your computer? Worried about your business being sued for making a careless copy?
It doesn't have to be that way. You can live your life free of Microsoft, and free of their thousand and one petty annoyances. And you can save money in the process.

The Town with No Map
or "How to put youself on the map when nobody knows where you are."
Is your town too small to show up on popular maps?
Do you want to show your clients how to get to your business?
Do you live in a new neighbourhood that isn't shown on internet maps?
Do you want to share that amazing hiking trail with your friends and family?
Do you wonder how well you did climbing that huge hill on your bicycle?
Do you want to know exactly how far and how fast you run each week?
Where did you catch that big fish?
Do you want to plan a "Pub Crawl" with the maximum number of establishments and minimum total distance?
OpenStreetMap can help. OpenStreetMap is an Open Source collection of software tools and geographic data. With it you can create specialty maps for your business, community group or personal interest.
This workshop will discuss OpenStreetMap: What is it? Why is it important? Who can use it? How can you get involved? The presentation is suitable for anybody with an interest in maps and provides a gentle introduction to a technical topic.
You'll learn what is possible with OpenStreetMap and see examples of what other contributors have already done. There will be a question and answer session.
